  • Original frontispiece lithograph by Pablo Picasso published in Verve Volume VII, Numbers 25 and 26, printed by Draeger Frerés in 1951.  Includes the print, the "Picasso à Vallauris 1949-1951" title page and the two-sided Colophon page.  The print size is 11-1/4 x 9 inches on a 14 x 10 sheet.  The print is in excellent, near mint condition save for some faint edge toning that would be fully covered by matting.  The title page exhibits a bit more edge toning but is still suitable for framing.

Pablo Picasso (1881 – 1973) was a Spanish-born painter, sculptor, and printmaker who spent most of his adult life in France.  He is considered to be one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, best known for, along with Georges Braque, founding the Cubist movement.  In addition to Cubism, he also executed works in Neoclassicism and Surrealism.  His early works are famously known as the "Blue Period" and Rose Period.  Picasso's works often reflected his Communist political views.  He was a lifelong aficionado of Bullfighting, and in his exceptionally prolific career created many paintings, prints and sculptures devoted to the subject.
